All i want is everything

At least fall is here.
My favorite season.
The world seems so much better in the fall.
Cleaner.

I just tonight received my latest cassette Walkman.
A Sony model WMFX-493 released in 2000.
I have to clean the heads, test it.
The only problem, which is really not a problem is that this
particular model had a plug in remote control,
the headphone system then plugs into the remote.
This Walkman does allow the headphones to plug directly
into the machine itself so a lack of remote is not specifically
a problem.
This is a light weight, rounded, easily transportable model,
which i plan on using as my work Walkman.
If of course it actually works?
There's always that with this Walkman obsession of mine
shit may or may not actually work.

I did make a find on Amazon.
Two BAS CAR-II Studio 353 90 minute High Bias tapes.
Made in Germany these are severely, serious high quality,
heavy weight tapes and i am so pleased to have found them.

This weekend i will have my Repairman Jack hat on
attempting to replace the belt in one of my favorite Walkman's.
My WM-103.
I purchased this Walkman in Narita Japan in 1988.
This Walkman has slowed and pretty much stopped working.
My intent is to open it up, replace the drive belt, clean and lube it,
hoping that this will fix the play problems with it.
I so hope this works. This Walkman is not only technically huge and a favorite but
probably one of the most valuable in my collection.
I am so truly hoping i don't screw this up.

This show is just excellent.
Can't wait for the second season.

Mix Tape

Extra time off this week.
Desperately needed.
Enjoying a quiet dark cloudy day at home.
Writing, drinking coffee, smoking.
I am slovenly but at the same moment, I feel great about slovenly.
It is the type of day that occurs infrequently
 that i truly appreciate.

Penny Dreadful
Amazing, just fucking Awesome...

currently
Since i live in Roswell I thought after all these
years I should actually read something
about this.

I have been enjoying listening to my home-made
Mix tapes in the afternoons at work via my Walkman collection.
My intent is to re-record several previously recorded mix tapes
during this long weekend.
My previous attempts have lacked the attention to detail necessary
to make a flawless mix tape.
My equalization levels require attention, song spacing,
master volume and so on.
I am also studying via the book below on how to
fit new belts to my older tape machines,
and perform required mechanical maintenance.

After retirement I would like to obtain a high level,
accurate, home weather station.
Monitoring the homestead weather as it happens, and record daily information.
Feeding my OCD in a constructive manner.

I have no commentary in regards to what is
occurring in the world.
From ISIS to Ebola there is no truth.
There is only the desired spin and deception that
those in power desire us to believe, making it easier to drive us,
like a grazing herd, in the direction of their choosing
for their own greed.
We grow vegetables and lock ourselves away from the world.
This is our solution.

I am just no longer accepting work."

dammit Chloe

Another hard week.
They are all hard now.
I am intent on sloth this weekend. I need it.

Binge watching

By the time this blog is posted I should have received
my latest Walkman acquisition a Sony Sports Walkman WM-F45.
AM/FM cassette player.
I also ordered a matching set of yellow ear buds.
The world is fast running out of working, affordable, used Walkman cassette players.
I purchase one whenever and where ever i find them.
This Sports model Walkman
first marketed in 1988 was water resistant-not water proof,
and contained the high quality D-33 tape machinery within.
I am planning on using this model while painting/working
around the house in retirement.
I did not want to subject my more pristine Walkman's to possibly being
paint splattered or damaged.
The result will be
an old guy listening to old tunes on an old machine staggering around an old house.

Anything that was good enough to bathe with Julia Roberts in the 80's
is good enough for me.

My most recent, cool to me, site i discovered by
accident on the Net is the blog
Minimally Minimal.
go here
Focusing as the name implies on
beautiful but minimalism design theory, I have been working
my way through viewing and enjoying the entries.
This blog is surely not for everyone.
However if you have an interest in product design,
food, travel, and appreciate beautiful photography
you should peruse this blog.

I have a tendency to expect poor service and inaccuracy
in navigating current American standards
when attempting to accomplish a necessary activity.
The department of motor vehicles of any state or TSA at any airport
would be a perfect example of war with the stupid.
This week I was amazed at the actual competency
of the Social Security Administration when signing in
for the program to begin for both of us in Feb. of 2015.
Our assigned person was excellent, competent, willing
and the process was completed quickly and without undue pain.
The complete opposite of what i imagined would be the case.
I congratulate them for a job well done.
