The Uncertainty Principle: I never thought the end of the world would be so annoying?

Things are slowly getting on a more balanced plane.

life here is in no way normal as of yet.

My hair has reached that crazy growth stage just before I am able
to tie it back..one half inch short.

It is the longest 1/2 inch there is..

a half inch from normal...

This should not be considered an earth shaking problem,
however..
People have a tendency to stare at crazy hair and judge,
you can feel their opinion of you being transmitted.
Especially if you are an old dude..
Having crazy hair at the moment places me
in excellent company--

But I have become very self-conscious about my crazy hair.
Hopefully I can make it through the old guy hair crazy stage
to the old guy tie your hair back cool stage,
without breaking down and cutting it all off?

I managed to successfully install the ScangaugeE

I recently ordered in the Pocket Rocket.

Right now there's not much to display since the

Pocket Rocket's one inch ground clearance cannot be driven

with the still remaining deep snow on the roads...

When once finally in motion I can monitor fuel consumption
in an ultra detailed fashion (even by graphing) or with the push of a button
monitor 30 other engine/performance details.
Once i figure the complicated little fucker out that is?

I installed an aftermarket windshield mount to
house the unit at an easily viewed location while driving.
I was lucky in that the Pocket Rocket's OMBII port
resides right below the drivers left in an accessible position
which meant that I did not have to run the ugly wiring a visibly long distance.

It's going to be spring before the freshly tuned,
new tire'd, electronically superior Eco-geezer hot rod of mine
burns up the streets tho---

After long drought like conditions on Ebay in the search

for reasonably priced boomboxes...

I discovered a GE 3-5265a box reasonably priced and immediately bought it now.

Disguising itself as sort of a modernistic shelf unit stereo--
this GE is a true boombox unit in that the speakers do not detach.
For a large mini-box, (apply the term jumbo shrimp here)
this box is actually fairly feature filled with
multiple LED indicators and separate bass and treble controls,
(individual bass and treble is always a huge plus factor)
larger speakers and tape type selector.
I did begin the first steps of a complete cleaning/reconditioning.
It is going to need much work, new belts, etc....

This particular GE was not a star of the street music revolution,

it wasn't played on the subway or seen in films,

but it was affordable--a condition rapidly disappearing within

my world of collecting old boomboxes.

I get what i can afford and wait for a deal.

Rural Japan is pretty much dying out..
The population is aging and not being replaced.
This lone schoolgirl is the only reason the train stops at
this station--so she can get to school.

The Japanese government was going to close this train station
due to lack of use..that is until the Japanese government
discovered that this lone remaining schoolgirl would
have a 73 minute walk to the next nearest operating train station.
So the government is keeping this small, lonely station open
morning and evening until
this single student graduates high school..
only then will it be closed.
There was no pressure group involved, no Internet campaign to do right.
The Japanese government just did what they are suppose to do.

We are tearing through the second season of True Detective on DVD.

I had refused to read anything on the second series in advance,
knowing that the web world would unfairly compared anything
constructed in season 2 against the first year...
I wanted to view #2 with clean eyes...
I am totally and completely enjoying the new season,
we are about 3/4 through the DVD set as i write this...
My favorite element in season two is the barroom--
The Black Rose.

It is a repeating background, a meeting place for
several of the main characters.

The Black Rose is absolutely the most depressing barroom
on the face of the earth---
a dark dive
featuring all night live, suicidal music--

If it truly existed,

thousands of Japanese, preparing for ritual suicide

would travel to the Black Rose for their last night on earth,

reveling in the decor and ambiance

no doubt inspired by the bar's scarred manager--

A barroom like the Black Rose is
never around in real life when you desperately want some place to
sit with your pure shit feelings, quietly surrounded by everybody else
who thinks their life is pure shit.
