We've managed to repair some of the most obvious

damage from blizzard last month.

There is much clean up to do yet tho.

Due to these limited repairs,

I partially recovered enough from the swamp land of de-motivation,

to start the utility room re-design and re-paint project,

as well as removing debris as best I can right now.

I am not sure if i have truly made it across

the desert of OCD depression & despair for sure yet?

I never know for sure until I look up from a

job or a project and realize I am enjoying myself

on this one project and not browbeating myself over

what still needs to be done immediately?

When i can enjoy a simple, singular task, that's when i know for sure I am OK?

I ordered enough parts to begin building a new mechanical watch.
I will be building a modified copy of the

German, Uhr Type A, (Baumuster A) 1940-Jan.1941
WW2 Luftwaffe Observer Watch.
1200 of these watches were originally constructed.
Each watch was checked in and out for individual flights.
These watches were not issued to each flier.

I really wanted one of these and sold the last one I built.

Since there is no way in hell I can afford Steinhart's

modern recreation of this watch I decided to build another one.

This Uhr Type A build will be only 44mm in diameter.
The originals were 55mm in diameter, big for easy visibility and
were worn over the heavy padded flight suit.
A 55mm diameter mechanical watch is simply
much too large for daily wear.
The Photo of an original Uhr A below displays the difficulty of a watch this size.

My build plan is for this style dial face with white numeric's,

large, yellow super lume hands and
a flat black, diesel-punk style, large,heavy case with a matching
flat black leather band.
Hopefully to appear and function somewhat like the below example
when completed.

My parts are expected to arrive in 14 days.
I will provide photographs of the construction.

I've had a bit of success working on a Timex Tw2p78900 quartz
Chronograph.

This is an easily read chronograph that for reasons unknown
died right after purchase years ago?
I've been attempting repair for some time now but I may
have had a break through this week working on it--I'll know for sure in a few days when
the necessary new parts appear via UPS.
