It was 165 degree's F in area's of Iran over the past few days.

My summer heat complaints of our
105-108 degrees F here in New Mexico,
makes me now feel like a complete wuss compared to the temps in Iran.

The highest temperature recorded in the Middle East
was in Saudi Arabia July 8th, 2003 registering 178 degree's F.
That was in the inhabitable, great dune sea.

165 F in Iran this week
These Iranian high temperatures are occurring in populated area's.
My Jo advises that 165 degree's is the standard temperature to cook beef...?

I'm sure you may have heard about this but it bespeaks

of the Murican' cultural experience.

Canadians built a rather cute, talking, GPS tracked, photo taking robot

they called Hitchbot.

Designed to hitchhike, with it's own little chair from the side of the road

to take a photo every twenty seconds, upload it's photo's and GPS location
to it's own website.
It could even talk in a limited fashion--attempting to socialize
with those who picked it up.

Hitchbot traveled completely across Canada and Europe.

Many many people picked-up Hitchbot.

and co-existed with him peacefully.
Kids followed his travels on his website.

In the Netherlands he was even a guest at a wedding....

People took him on a boat ride.

Things were going great for Hitchbot, life was good and interesting
until he reached Murica'

The plan was for Hitchbot to cross Murica' to San Francisco

and from there to the far east.

Hitching across Murica' was different from Canada and Europe

Hitchbot was stomped to death within 10 days in the good ole' USofA...
He never got further than Philadelphia?

As nation we remain that Psycho High School kid--

The destruction of this little bot is an important display of
how tremendously fucked-up we are.
In the Merican' twilight we have become Mogadishu with fast food.
Our nation culturally and operationally has become a DICK.

We failed to obey the single necessary cultural, economic, political and

personal rule that applies across all beliefs and boundaries:

Working in the yard I now carry an ESEE Izula small sheath knife on my belt.

A straight bladed knife works so much better on homestead jobs I randomly encounter

as compared to a folding pocket knife.

I spent the afternoon today organizing my kit--

sharpening my knifes and cleaning my weapons--

It felt good.

In Japan it is considered good luck for

your child if a Sumo wrestler makes them

cry....

Tattoo's are considered to bring good luck & protection

to their owners in Tahiti.

I guess if you are one of those modern helicopter parents,

you should tattoo your newborn

and find a Sumo wrestler to babysit them?

The new modeling project is a 1/72 TU-95MS BEAR--
I've already started on it during these recent 105 degree afternoons.

After a morning of working out in the yard..it is very enjoyable
to retreat indoors once the temperature hits 95 or so--and
after cleaning up--spend the afternoons in the cool
modeling,
The high afternoon temperatures are forecast to continue unabated for
quite some time and facing afternoons indoors for possibly quite a couple of weeks,
I decided I needed to consistently have a kit on hand.
I found a real buy in Japan on a Soviet SU-34 Strike Flanker kit.
