Meanwhile, at Kurt Cobain's house....

A confusing week both for me
and for my projects--

They have discovered the remains of a herd of
Wooly Mammoths who survived up to 5600 years ago...
It is amazing how our view of the past is changing.
Especially how the past wasn't really that long ago---

The Olympics starts Friday???

Watching  Season three this week on DVD--

Turns out I was always right, right, right, right?
Flossing your teeth does absolutely nothing for you.
I could never understand how running a piece
of fishing line between your teeth, hurting yourself,
could be good for you?
I always knew this was bullshit!
Bare in mind tho--this is coming
from a guy who is have new teeth made?
So---?

I just began the construction of my second automobile model.
A Jaguar MkII Saloon Car
I purchased this kit from a hobby shop in Japan..
It was not available in the US.
It arrived in a beautiful, very protective package.
Sometimes you just have to love the Japanese
method of doing things!
The Esquire guitar build is fucking confusing---
I am so far extremely happy with the physical results
displayed in the below photographs!
I completed attaching the neck, tuners
pick-guard, electronics, and controls.
After assembling the guitar I plugged it in and
And what a great sound it made--pure Fender Esquire!!
The guitar sounded fucking excellent--
The bridge needed some minor adjustments
but after all the assembly, I was beat..
and not wanting to screw things up
I took a break for that night--
All I did was lay the guitar down on the workbench.
The next day I pick the Esquire up, plug it in,
to adjust the bridge--and
NO FUCKING SOUND???
In the 3 full days since, working on it all day long,
 I have tried everything,
checked everything,
taken everything apart and re-assembled multiple times--
ZIP--!
No sound!
I now have the guitar completely apart again
with the plan of replacing all electronic components.
I already have a Fender Lace Sensor (red) new Pickup--
I need to order new volume and tone pots (controls)
wiring and a new jack--
Then--
It means I have to learn guitar electronic wiring,
soldering and hope that I can get everything back
together and have it work--
I'll keep you posted.

   on Busking..
busking
I mean why not?
I'm retired, and have the time besides busking would provide
practise, the ability work out tunes in front of an audience
and earn--well,
maybe earn a bit?
I will have to check with the city to see if
busking is legal and/or if i need a license,
and if so how much a license costs?
Of course I would need some gear..
(when do i not need gear?)
i would need to get some specific busking items.
Starting with a battery powered amp.
In my thought experiment I am considering a
Roland cube street amp..
this portable amp takes 6 AA batteries and has lines in
for both guitar and microphone!
It supposedly rates out at 50 watts maximum
more than enough power.
Expensive tho---?
Adding a "trio" guitar pedal would be awesome!
These Trio pedals are reportedly amazing.
You simply tap the main switch, play your tune all the way through,
hit the switch again and the trio pedal provides
drums and bass accompaniment for your specific tune!
The Trio pedal is
a much cooler option than doing the whole, one man band, thing--
which is just, well, weird?
In my thought experiment after I acquire the necessary gear,
all that's left is to pick out my corner, set up
and play.
Elvis--I'd need to learn more Elvis--
In my thought experiment-
everybody loves Elvis--
There are certain well--drawbacks, to my plan--
for one:
I may be kinda old for this, but then again
maybe not--?
Secondly:
All my gigging has been from a stage--
which provides a bit of separation from the
crowd while playing..
I really do not like interacting close up, with strangers
while playing that much--?
I'm not exactly a people kinda guy?
real homeless people might get pissed off at me?
I am still working on this busking thought experiment?
I am remain undecided--?
Could I actually make enough
to pay back the equipment investment?
What do you think:
good or bad idea?
